We are a family run independent funeral directors, we work within the community to provide a quality bespoke funeral service for each family, conducted with respect and dignity.

The personal data we would like to process on you is:

: relationships as relatives
: doctors details
: details of prepaid funeral arrangements

The personal data we collect will be used for the following purposes:

: application for burial

3.2 CONSENT
By consenting to this privacy notice you are giving us permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified.
Consent is required for David Butterfield Funeral Directors to process both types of personal data, but it must be explicitly given.  Where we are asking you for sensitive personal data we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us to update your preferences.

3.3 DISCLOSURE
David Butterfield Funeral Directors will not pass on your personal data to third parties without first obtaining your consent.  The following third parties may receive your personal data for the following purpose(s):
: Crematorium for the purpose of organising cremation of the deceased
: Cemetery for the purpose of organising burial of the deceased
: Nominated celebrant/minister for the purpose of arranging details of the funeral service
: Catering venues for providing refreshments following the service
: Florists for providing floral arrangements for the service
: Printers for providing an order of service for the service
: Solicitors who are dealing with the estate of the deceased
: Monumental masons to arrange for any work concerning a monumental stone
: Agencies who may be required to recover outstanding invoices (only when all other options have failed)
: Doctors, hospitals, coroners for relevant paperwork
: Prepaid funeral plan provider
: Accountants – funeral accounts are sent to our accountants for year-end accounts

3.4 RETENTION PERIOD
David Butterfield Funeral Directors will process personal data for as long as is necessary to allow us to fulfil your funeral services and will store the personal data indefinitely for future references only.

3.5 YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT
At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:
: Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
: Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or                incomplete.

3.7 PRIVACY STATEMENT
We at David Butterfield Funeral Directors will collect personal information about you, the deceased and any other persons whom you supply details for.  In order to allow us to fulfil the services agreed we will pass your details to appropriate third parties such as florists, clergy/ministers/officiates, cemetery, crematoria staff etc. (as stated in 3.3 above)
David Butterfield Funeral Directors will only use your personal information on a time of need basis for funeral arrangements and prepaid funeral planning, once arrangements and requirements of our service are complete, no more contact from ourselves will be made.  Our paper records are stored in a no public access area and our office if left unattended is locked.  Our computer records are stored on an internal system with no online connection.  Staff must at all times comply with our strict confidentiality rule and privacy policy. David Butterfield Funeral Directors treats all information confidentially and in line with UK Data Protection laws.  We will never sell information collected to third parties for marketing purposes.
